The TNGS sports consultancy and the Cátedra del Deporte of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) have developed a virtual training program to train football players aged 12 to 18 in game intelligence.
Under the name NG Virtual Camp, UEFA psychologists and coaches with experience in different Spanish clubs have created an online training program capable of training the intelligence of the players without hardly stepping on the field. Among the goals of this ambitious program led by the Spanish sports consultancy TNGS and the Cátedra del Deporte de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), the transmission of those “sports and personal skills that, for time, are not worked in normal training, and that are determining factors in high-performance players, ”says José Herrera, Granada CF Femenino First Team coach and member of the online campus teaching team.
TNGS’s long history of training young talents and its deep knowledge of Spanish football are decisive in guaranteeing the effectiveness of a program that in its first edition had more than 70 players from the Caribbean, the Falkland Islands, South Africa and Saudi Arabia . The key to the success of this online training program lies in the active role that the player plays in his own learning process.
Designed in an exclusively digital format, NG Virtual Camp lasts 3 weeks. Through live video calls, coaches guide players in personalized sessions divided into three training blocks: NG Skills or “next generation skills”, technical talk and team project. After each session there is a challenge that must be faced in a group and each player is evaluated under different notions such as creativity, cooperation, empathetic communication, leadership, among others.
